Colby Sproat

Colby grew up in a family-run grain farm just 20 minutes west of Seed Hawk, near Kipling, Saskatchewan. After high school, he headed to Saskatoon, SK and spent a number of years immersed in post-secondary education related to Agriculture. The results yielded an Agricultural Machinery Technician Certificate from SIAST as well as an Agronomy Diploma and an Ag Business Degree from the University of Saskatchewan. A 4 year work term with John Deere as an Ag Machinery Tech during his time at SIAST provided Colby with excellent hands-on experience with farm equipment. 5 summers with Bayer CropScience in their Environmental Affairs, Market Development and Sales Divisions, as well as a 6 month term in Australia with Parent Seed Production, helped Colby develop a strong working knowledge of agronomic principles. This knowledge and work experience became great assets as he returned home in 2011 to take a position with Seed Hawk in International Sales and to take on a more prominent role with the family farm. Today, Colby supports the Seed Hawk Sales team in his role as Technical Sales Support.
